Prabhupadanugas: Message From Germany

THE MESSAGE OF VEDASIs it still relevant?
Today many people recognize, especially from the younger generation, the need for an expanded definition of human existence, a definition that goes beyond the dry stereotypical interpretations of Western science, philosophy, politics and religion.
The Western ideology is concerned largely with externals, or seeking "the world to get to grips" and has led to the manifold frustrations of modern life - social unrest, the threat of war, economic worries and general lack of inner fulfillment and balance, despite our high material living standards. Therefore, in the last twenty years a great interest in esoteric philosophies designed to draw people's attention to the inner realm of consciousness - rather than external, material "progress" to strive.
This urge to explore the interior, has led to a pronounced generation gap that seems to extend even daily. The older generation, so that group of people who clings to beliefs, arguing for material progress, exerts power and influence on the daily work life and discussed among policy and social planning. In the meantime, many members of the younger generation to rise just completely out of the profit-oriented society, and therefore appeals that come from churches, newspapers, television and politicians no longer accessible.
In fact, the younger generation is a great example by rejecting the message of consumer-oriented propaganda. Materialistic aspirations in the name of religion, economic development and sense gratification are useless, in fact, because they focus only on material objects of our desires, we lose the moment of death again anyway. If we neglect true spiritual development, we will end our lives have nothing to show off of lasting value, and the time will force us to accept a new body, which in turn plugged full of unfulfilled desires.
Instead we should look Moksa or seek relief and take a path that allows us to promote the full realization of eternity in this life. Spiritual liberation is the representatives of Western materialism alien to them such an idea appears in the world of highly objectionable, and they try to run counter propaganda by demonizing spiritual life and make the eternity of the spiritual soul in question. Those who view the material body as the self and deny the soul, are nothing more than "spiritual suicide". Therefore one who is a suicide, who would see this as a mortal body, his true identity because he has been condemned by the physical death to die. On the other side knows someone who has developed the consciousness of the true self that he was neither born, will die, because he is eternal spiritual soul.
But after Moksa to aspire to is one thing, and to achieve that goal is another."Alternative living" aims also to set us free from the shackles of excessive consumption, but creates no real alternative to materialism. Some people think they can free themselves by living a simple life in self-sufficiency, while others seek freedom by fleeing with drugs. Still others would prefer to overturn the materialistic society and live in anarchy. But none of these set of options depends on the fundamental objective of Moksa, ie real liberation: liberation from death and rebirth.
Because those who seek to come through their own speculations behind the secret of spiritual liberation, just by reading a few books, meditate for themselves and imagine that they were exempt. But the mental level is not identical with the spiritual plane, and therefore, such people from their mind again and again carried to materialistic activities superficial sense of enjoyment (intoxication, illicit sex, etc.). And finally there are those who decide to follow one of the many gurus who have come recently to the public and promises eternal life on a higher level of consciousness. But even here there is only mental speculation, although they are perhaps more rigorously, because almost all these so called teachers have invented their own teachings and do not refer to an authoritative source of Vedic scriptures.
One might decide to follow the intellectual speculation of another human being, then move but still within the limited range of mental speculation, where it is impossible for material from uncontrollable desires to be free. To cover up this obvious error in their teachings, telling some of these newly fashionable "spiritual" ideologues their students, they could reach the spiritual level by simply would investigate all their material desires. They call it "Tantra". But this is not a Tantric, but pure nonsense, like trying to extinguish gasoline fires. In such a manner many misinformed people in the name of spiritual life to be cheated. Tantra is equated with the largest free sex nonsense.
Tantra is a Sanskrit word for example. It means "law regulating the discipline" and has its origin in the Vedas. Real Tantra teaches that you pull through the activities of a spiritual path (eg, sex), can also straighten again, in which these activities are strictly regulated and disciplined. This is the true meaning of Tantra.
There are many other Sanskrit words that have been spread recently through several teachers in the West: Karma, Ananda, sannyas Brahman and Maya, to name a few.All these terms have their origin in the Vedas, and there they are also defined. But the most popular spiritual leaders of these groups recognize the authority of the Vedas does not. You just have these words removed from various ancient writings and they added their own concocted philosophies. Once the talk turns to the Vedic scriptures, they usually say: "These writings merely antiquated books that have just the right track. If you find the way, they are leaving behind. I am the way, and so you need not to read those old books. Just listen to me. "
But Veda means "knowledge". It is knowledge that Sri Krishna, the Supreme Personality of Godhead, revealed at the beginning of creation, and that alone on the path of guru-parampara, the unbroken succession of spiritual teachers, was handed down to this day.
The Vedas consist of a) Sruti texts (derived from oral tradition): Rig-Veda, Sama Veda, Yajur Veda, Atharva-Veda and the Upanishads; b) Smriti texts (declarations of Sruti texts): Puranas, Mahabharata Bhagavad-gita and c) Nyaya texts (logical reasoning): Vedanta-sutra.
These writings reveal the plan and function of the cosmos, the real significance of this human life and the transcendental, nonmaterial, spiritual kingdom of Sri Krishna, the supreme personal God. It's eternal knowledge, preserved in spite of the further progress of its validity period.
The Vedic scriptures have existed since time immemorial in oral form, although they were not written down until some 5,000 years ago. They also said the emergence of the modern age, which is dominated by conflict and confusion, just ahead. This present period is Kali-yuga, known as the Age of Iron, and it is a time to go in the spiritual potential of humanity lost almost entirely.
From the Puranas , we find that certain techniques for self-realization, which in earlier times had meaning - for example, Dhyana (silent meditation), Yajna (sacrificial offerings), and puja (worship in the temple) - now meaningless. What's in Kali-yugauseful? Kalau hari tad kirtanat Dhari - the process of Kirtana, ie the singing of the holy name of God. The Brihad Naradiya-Purana explains:
harar harar nama nama nama harar eve kevalam
Kalau nasteva nasteva nasteva gatir anyatha
"In this age of Kali (the age of quarrel and hypocrisy), there is no other process to make progress in spiritual life, as the chanting of the holy name of God." And what of the many names of God in Kali-yuga all particularly recommended?
Hare Krishna Hare Krishna Krishna Krishna Hare Hare
Hare Rama Hare Rama Rama Rama Hare Hare
iti sodasakam namnam kali kalmasa nasanam
Natah parataropayoh sarva vedesu drsyate
"After having studied all the Vedic literature, one can find no more appropriate for this era of religion as a method of chanting (singing or talking) of the Hare Krishna mantra. "(Kali santaranya Upanisad).
His Divine Grace AC Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupada is an Acharya (spiritual teacher) in the Brahma-Madhva-Gaudiya Sampradaya-. He represents fully the Vedic teachings, and has demonstrated them so that intelligent people of the West, which are neither provided by modern materialism of modern Pseudospiritualismus satisfied, they will find easy access. Srila Prabhupada has also founded a spiritual society worldwide - the International Society for Krishna Consciousness (ISKCON) - for each to demonstrate the effectiveness of the Vedic message visible in modern life. The people who do not want to be constantly cheated, not by the false materialistic propaganda, nor by pseudo-spiritual teachers are advised to begin a serious discussion of these great works and Srila Prabhupada's books to study.
